1. Sotto Vuoto (2003)

On Italian Coffee package labels one can often see �Sotto Vuoto�, which indicates that the product is vacuum packed. This is also the case with this music.

2. Toccata (2008)

The point of departure when composing this duo was the Italian verb Toccare which means to touch, reach, handle, feel, affect and move.

3. Area d�Aria (2016)

Area d�Aria is a terrain of air. A topography of pneumatic pressure.

4. Sylfer (2020)
per trombone e percussione
A�sylph�(also called�sylphid) is an imaginary or elemental being that inhabits the air and is mortal but soulless. The existence of such invisible beings was first postulated by the�medieval�physician�Paracelsus, who associated a different being with each of the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water.

5. ROTOR zero (1999)

ROTOR ZERO is the embryo in a series of compositions for various ensemble settings that were inspired by the ROTORELIEF art works by Marcel Duchamps. The latter consists of twelve rotating graphical "spirals" which are supposed to be silently played on an ordinary gramophone creating a 3-dimensional hypnotic experience. My spontaneous reaction, when I saw them for the first time was, what would they sound like?

6. Sirenata (2019)

Sirenata is a Serenata for Sirens, in other words a late evening song for half-birds / half beautiful maidens.

7. Contraria (2020)

In italian �Contraria� means both Head-wind and on the Contrary. As a title I imagine a terrain where various directions of winds meet. Or a conversation where various viewpoints are ventilated.

Titeln på detta album är hämtad från en plåtskylt som Ivo Nilsson fann i Saltsjökvarn i samband med en inspelning som Axelsson & Nilsson-duo gjorde för SVT. Sedan dess har den hängt i hans studio och utgjort hans dagliga motto.
Den sammanhållande länken mellan verken är att de är intimt förknippade med hans dagsverke som musiker. Erfarenheter från hans dagliga praktik.
